Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Fan-Doggy-Dozi. These terms and conditions outline the rules and regulations for the use of our services. By accessing and using our services, you accept and agree to comply with these terms. Bookings cannot be accepted without agreement to these terms and conditions.

1. General Terms

  • We use only science-based, positive reinforcement, force-free training methods.

  • The use of prong collars, e-collars, choke chains, or any aversive equipment or techniques is strictly prohibited during our sessions.

  • We follow the strict code of conduct established by the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT).

  • Our training programmes are designed to foster a positive relationship between you and your dog.

  • Results depend on your consistency, commitment, and application of the training advice provided.

2. Client Responsibilities

  • Clients are responsible for their dog and their behaviour during sessions and in all areas where training takes place.

  • Children under 16 years old must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.

  • Clients are responsible for ensuring their contact information is kept up to date. 

3. Dog Health & Safety  

  • Clients are responsible for ensuring their dog is microchipped and that the information is up to date.

  • Puppies attending group sessions must have received their first and second core vaccinations, in line with current UK veterinary guidelines.

  • All dogs attending group sessions must be fully vaccinated in accordance with current UK veterinary guidelines and be up to date with flea and worming treatments.

  • Bitches in season should not attend group sessions. Please inform us in advance of the session, and we will do our best to accommodate alternative arrangements.

  • If your dog shows any signs of illness (coughing, vomiting, diarrhoea, lethargy, etc.), they must not attend training until fully recovered. Please inform us if your dog is unwell.

  • To ensure the safety and well-being of your dog, any known health or medical issues, including allergies, injuries, or ongoing treatments, must be disclosed before booking to ensure appropriate care and safety measures are in place.

  • For safety and comfort, clients must keep their dog on a lead and maintain a distance of at least 2 metres from other dogs in the session unless instructed otherwise by the trainer.

  • Clients are responsible for their dog and their behaviour during sessions and in all areas where training takes place.

  • Any known behavioural issues, including but not limited to aggression and reactivity to humans and/or other dogs, must be disclosed before booking to ensure appropriate training methods and safety measures are in place.

  • The trainer reserves the right to remove any dog or client from a session if they are showing signs of stress or discomfort or pose a safety risk to others.

4. Services & Sessions

One-to-One Sessions:

  • Sessions take place at an agreed location, which may include your home, a public space, or our training facility.

  • If the location is deemed unsuitable or unsafe, the trainer may suggest an alternative venue.

  • Clients (or a responsible adult) must be present during the session.


Group Sessions:

  • Sessions must be booked in advance and are subject to availability.

  • If a dog becomes excessively disruptive or shows any aggression, the trainer may ask the client to leave the session. In such cases, we may recommend private one-to-one training instead.
     

Trainer's Eye Add-on:

  • Can only be purchased in conjunction with group programmes.

  • Feedback is limited to:

    • programme content only.

    • up to 3 messages or 3 videos (maximum 2 minutes each) per week, or a combination of both, submitted via WhatsApp or SMS only. This offer does not include email, phone calls or video calls.

  • Feedback is provided via WhatsApp or SMS within 48 hours (Monday–Friday, 9 am–5:30 pm, excluding public holidays).

5. Cancellations & Refunds

One-to-One Support:

  • At least 72 hours' notice before the scheduled start time of the first (or only) session is required for cancellations to qualify for a full refund.

  • If less than 72 hours notice is given, the session may be charged in full unless rescheduling is possible.

  • We will do our best to accommodate rescheduling requests subject to availability.

 

One-off Group Events

  • At least 7 days' notice before the session is required for cancellations to qualify for a full refund or to transfer to an alternative date, subject to availability.

  • If less than 7 days' notice is given, we may issue a refund, or transfer to an alternative date, only if we are able to fill your space.

  • Fees are non-refundable for no-shows or absences on the day.

 

Courses (multi-session blocks)

  • At least 7 days' notice before the first session is required for cancellations to qualify for a full refund or to transfer to an alternative date, subject to availability.

  • If less than 7 days' notice is given, we may issue a refund, or transfer to an alternative date, only if we are able to fill your space.

  • Course fees are for the full block; missed sessions are non-refundable.

  • However, online catch-up sessions may be offered, subject to availability, at a discounted rate.


General Terms

  • Exceptional cases, including sudden dog illness or injury, or bitches coming into season, will be considered on an individual basis.

  • If Fan-Doggy-Dozi Ltd needs to cancel a session for whatever reason, we will offer a suitable reschedule or a refund.

  • Fan-Doggy-Dozi Ltd will not be liable for cancellations or changes caused by events outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, venue unavailability, or trainer illness.

  • As all services are provided on specific dates for leisure purposes, they are exempt from the statutory 14-day cancellation period under UK consumer law.

6. Payment & Fees

  • Full payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed.

  • Payment must be made online at the time of booking using the payment methods available on our website, including PayPal.

  • Bookings are not confirmed until payment has been received.

7. Travel & Locations

  • One-to-One Support is primarily provided within Beauly, The Black Isle, Inverness and surrounding locales.

  • Travel is generally included in the session price; however, for significantly distant locations, a travel contribution may be discussed and agreed upon at the time of booking.

  • It is the Client’s responsibility to provide or arrange suitable parking or access (e.g., providing gate codes or highlighting difficult farm tracks) at the session location.

8. Liability

  • By booking or participating in any of our services, you acknowledge that working with dogs can involve some unpredictability.

  • Fan-Doggy-Dozi Ltd takes all reasonable precautions to ensure the safety and wellbeing of you and your dog, but cannot be held responsible for loss, injury, or damage caused by factors outside our reasonable control, to persons, property, or dogs during training.

  • We strongly recommend that clients have appropriate pet insurance, including third-party liability coverage, to protect against potential incidents.

  • Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

  • Fan-Doggy-Dozi instructors are fully insured, including Public Liability insurance.

9. Media & Marketing

  • We may take photos and videos during training sessions for marketing or training purposes. If you prefer not to be included, please inform us in writing before your session.

  • Please ask your trainer for permission before taking photos or videos during sessions and before posting them on social media.

  • All training handouts, both digital and printed, as well as any other materials provided to you, are copyrighted by Fan-Doggy-Dozi Ltd. These materials are for your personal use and may not be photocopied or shared with others without our prior consent.

10. Privacy Policy: summary

  • Fan-Doggy-Dozi Ltd is committed to safeguarding your privacy. Any personal data you provide, including your name, address, phone number, email address, and details about your dog, will be kept confidential and managed in compliance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

  • You have the right to request the removal of your information from our records at any time.

Agreement

By booking with Fan-Doggy-Dozi Ltd, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions. We reserve the right to update or modify these terms and conditions at any time.
